Honey Cornbread

Sweet and moist cornbread with a golden crust. A Southern classic that pairs perfectly with chili or soups.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Yellow Cornmeal
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup Butter
  • 2 Egg
  • 1/4 cup Honey

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9-inch cast iron skillet or baking dish.
  2. Whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and honey.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared skillet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
